The lines of the various blocks used for the coffering can be clearly seen in this image. A hole made by the removal of a metal clamp can also be seen to the left. The range of flowers depicted might suggest that multiple carvers were responsible for this decoration working side-by-side on scaffolding. The amount of drill use on this coffering shows that carvers with their assistants must have been able to operate the drill up above their heads.
