Notes

This image highlights the juncture between two different scenes: a battle scene to the left and a scene of a legionary chopping wood to the right. It is interesting to see how the carvers responsible depicted the feet of the two figures from these different scenes crossing in a slightly unnatural pose. This might indicate that these scenes had to be squeezed into this space and the carvers struggled to avoid this overlap.
