On this detail the irregular sizes of blocks used in this section can be seen, as can a shallow indent for the insertion of an inscription or a repair; two pins holes are visible at either end of this indent.
Notes
The capital in this section appears to have been much more smoothly carved than the rest of the engaged column on which it sits which again suggests that there was no single finish applied all over the exterior surface of the Colosseum.
