Description
The block division in this image, passing straight through the figure of Agrippa, again indicates carving in place. Lining up the different sections of the hand especially would have been impossible if they had been carved on blocks that were not closely fitted together. All of this carving must have been done on scaffolding.

Notes

The dark patches visible on the surface reveal the colour of the stone prior to restoration resulting largely from pollution.
