This image shows the pair of measuring knobs left on the chest of this deity. These are certainly not marks of the pointing machine, which was a much later invention, and were probably reference points from which the carver worked with callipers. In this case it is probable that these points were left on purpose because there would have been no need to leave them beyond the initial shaping phase of work but here the skin of the deity is carefully smoothed and most of the detailing finished.
