Description
This relief is made up out of four panels, three of which are visible here. The carving crosses the joints between these panels without interruption suggesting that it was only done once they were in place. What structure these panels originally belonged to is unknown but it was evidently a major state monument.

Notes

A clear difference in style can be seen between the facial features of the allegorical figure in this detail and the portraits on the same relief, notably that of Vespasian. Either there were different carvers responsible for these heads or a different style was consciously used for different subjects.
