Description
What can be noted is the way the carving takes no notice of the joint between drums, a fact that suggests all of this work was done once the Column had been erected.

Process
Outlining
Tool
Channelling Tool
Method
Angle: Shallow (40-50°)
Force: Gentle
Description
A channelling tool has been used to outline several of these figures, notably the Dacian and his shield to the right.

Notes

The surface of the stone in this detail is very damaged making the identification of toolmarks difficult.
