The toolmarks visible on the woodn structure behind this figure seem to indicate smoothing with a rasp.

Signs of the rasp can also be seen on the flesh of the arm.

Notes

This figure should have a drill hole in his raised hand for a spear insert but was never given one. The fact that some figures do not have these holes suggests that the adding of inserts was a second stage of work and that drill holes were added only when the weapons were available.
