A battle in front of a Dacian village.
This image comes from right at the top of the Column of Trajan and the ring of fluting that surmounts the frieze can seen at the top. Since the figures in this scene clearly project beyond the level of the deepest part of the fluting we can conclude that this fluting is not part of a previous surface into which the frieze was cut; it must instead be a deliberate stylistic addition, one copied on the Column of Marcus Aurelius.
