Description
The way in which the line between column drums crosses right through the middle of this Dacian family groups shows that this carving must have been done once these blocks were in place. Even if just the core elements of the scene had been carved beforehand and then finished in place it would have been difficult to have all of these details line up exactly and the carvers would certainly have avoided having details like this boy's head just cross this line.
