Description
The holes visible across this facade were made by the removal of the metal clamps which originally held these blocks in place.

Notes

The irregular sizes of the blocks employed to construct the awkwardly shaped spandrels of the archway can be seen here; the block inserted into the corner of the spandrel, which lies behind the voussoirs themselves, finds an exact parallel on the slightly later Arch of Titus.
