Description
The texture on the leaves and on the spiral border at the top is achieved with a round-headed chisel working down each leaf.

Notes

An incredible amount of detail was put into the trees on the Column of Trajan. They are not in proportion in comparison with the figures but immense care was spent getting them just right.
