Following drill work a channelling tool was used in the foliage and around the four figures.

Notes

This is one of the most highly finished sarcophagi at Aphrodisias. On this chest, though, as on others at Aphrodisias, a slight difference in working can be noted between the figures and other decorative details, in this case the foliage beneath them.
