Description
This is a deep channel quarry cut into the side of the hill with vertical quarry-faces on both sides. The quarrymen here were evidently following a good layer of stone with few natural fissures. The fact that this quarry is separated from those either side of it by very narrow bands of rock might indicate that all of these sites were separately owned, since there are few other reasons why this rock would not have been quarried away.

Notes

This is one of the more than seventy individual extraction points which constitute the so-called City Quarries at Aphrodisias, located roughly 2 km north of the city. White and grey marbles were quarried in this area.
