Description
Point chisel marks are visible on the garlands and supports. This is relatively fine point chiselling which was probably not intended to be carved over.

Notes

This sarcophagus is again of a different format to many of the other garland sarcophagi from Aphrodisias. Althought the supports of the garlands are only roughly worked other elements of the design have been more finely worked, such as the probable bust above the middle garland.
