Description
Several of the blocks in this wall have roughly squared surfaces which were never cut back.

2. Lifting boss

Description
A lifting boss is visible on the block next to the doorway. This would have assisted the builders to attach ropes to these blocks when lifting them into place.

3. Pin socket

The holes in the wall beyond the doorway are made by the removal of metal pins which would have been inserted into the blocks during the construction process the hold them in place.
