Tooth Chisel
Method

Strips of tooth chiselling are visible running down this shaft, alternating with finer flat chiselling. These flat strips mean that the shaft is actually facetted rather than rounded.

Tool
Flat Chisel
Method
Angle: Shallow (40-50°)

Tool
Point

Lines of point chiselling can be seen on the top portion of this shaft which define the middle of each flute. These lines seem to have been carved when work started on shaping the flutes properly.
