Description
Rows of pick marks are visible across the rock-face in this area of the Bacakale Quarry.

Notes

The Bacakale Quarry is the largest quarry at Iscehisar (ancient Dokimeion) and the focus of modern activity at the site. Both white and coloured marble are extracted here, the latter a white-cream breccia with purple veins (pavonazzetto). This image shows a quarry-face.
