Placement
Description
The block joints visible on this pier show that the arch was built of irregularly sized blocks. Since the carving of the reliefs and the fluting crosses these lines without interruption it was probably done in place, once the blocks had been erected. The half-columns and adjacent scenes are carved from the same blocks.
