Description
The fact that the fluting passes across the joint between blocks shows that it was done in place, once the blocks had been erected.

Notes

The general composition of the reliefs on the Arch of Trajan is quite conservative. There is very little movement or attempt at narrative; the scenes appear more ceremonial and usually show two groups or two individuals meeting.
