Description
The central part of the clipeus (central roundel) has been left roughed-out for the addition of a portrait or other motif. Further rough work can be seen on areas of the background around the figures.

Notes

The relief on this sarcophagus is unfinished suggesting that it was rushed into use or perhaps abandoned because the customer no longer needed it. The clipeus (central roundel) has been left roughed-out, presumably for the addition of a portrait or other motif.
