Description
The flat surfaces of the frame are worked very quickly and roughly with either a wide flat chisel or a flat axe of some sort.

The figures are worked roughly with a narrower flat chisel, with the corner of the chisel being used to define the details of the form.

Notes

This is a good example of a typical relief sculpture in green schist from the Swat Valley, a region where Gandharan sculpture flourished especially between the 2nd and 4th centuries AD.
