Description
The point chisel or two toothed tooth chisel was used to shape the legs and dolphins of the figure. The work is much finer at the front of the leg than at the back.

Notes

The entire sculpture is unfinished and was a commission from the grateful city-fathers of Genoa for expelling the French and reestablishing the republic under imperial protection. It seems there were two periods when Bandinelli worked on the piece in 1529 and in 1537-1538 before abandoning the project.
