Description: Guidelines marking out the basic measurements of the form can be seen on the end of the block.

Tool: Flat Chisel
Method: Angle: Steep (60-70°)
Force: Medium
Description: The chamfered edge has been carved in using the flat chisel and it is into this surface that the moulding will be carved.

3. Guideline

Process: Laying-out
Description: Further guidelines has been applied on top of the chamfered surface.
