This is a curious sarcophagus which has a chest and lid carved in different materials. The lid appears to be heavily banded Prokonnesian marble while the chest might be Luna or Pentelic. The shallowness and style of the carving and especially the curious finish of the base of the scene might indicate that it is actually a Renaissance or later version of a Roman sarcophagus
