Roughed-out capital from the Carrara quarries, now in the Museo del Marmo.
These roughed-out elements were found in quarrying debris in the Roman quarries at Carrara. More detailed carving on these objects would have been undertaken at the building site. These objects were probably abandoned due to faults, like the large crack visible on the capital on the right.
