Tooth chisel marks are visible all over this stone except in the middle strip where a variety of other tools have been employed.

Next to the flat chisel marks is a band of scraper marks. In this case a toothed scraper.

At the righthand end of the middle band a patch of stone has been polished with abrasives. Only at this stage of work does the pink colouring of the stone become apparent.
