Just a quick update on events in Rome. During the last two weeks of May we were over working in Rome, first on a paper for the ASMOSIA conference and then with Peter Rockwell. In the second week in particular we concentrated on filming a series of interviews with Peter which will be available on the final version of the Art of Making in Antiquity website. These focused on materials, tools, Peter's work on the Column of Trajan and at Aphrodisias, and his thoughts on Roman stone carving and its place in the wider history of the discipline.
We are pleased to announce the final programme for the Carving Workshop on Saturday 23rd June. A while ago our paper was accepted for the 10th International Conference of the Association for the Study of Marble & Other Stones in Antiquity. On Monday 21st May we delivered our presentation. Some of our slides are displayed below:
