Very rough point chiselling, the remains of the original squared surface of the block, can be seen on the right of this side of the panel. This work might well have been completed in the quarry.
Finer point chiselling can be seen closer to the top and left of the block. These marks belong to the phase of work in which the overall dimensions of the panel were defined.
