Description
In this detail the disjuncture between the shoulder of the figure and the column in the background indicates either that this man's arm has been re-carved at some point or that the carver responsible for the initial stage of work was not concerned with making these two elements match up. This is a detail largely hidden from view in the background of the scene and would not have been noticeable from the ground.
