Where the moulding of the entablature and the fluting of the half-column meet a slightly awkward compromise can be seen. Due to the lack of space the carvers of the moulding seem to have decided to leave the end of the moulding unworked. This might suggest that one team of workers was responsible for the fluting and another for the entablature, with the latter simply unable to complete their work in the space left to them by the former.
