Description
Several notches in the border are visible here which Peter Rockwell has interpreted as markers left by the figure carver to record how deep the background should be carved to by the background carver. The way in which the border in this section is not properly marked out and delineated is also clear - it is essentially just the rough stone left between the two spirals.
