Description
The row of three holes on the section of fluting in the centre of this image were made for pins to hold on a section of stone that have been replaced. This was probably done during the first proper campaign of restoration in the nineteenth-century but we should not rule out the possibility that a certain amount of repairs were undertaken in the Roman period too.
